English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The purpose of ELPIC/ELAC is to provide all parents of English Learners a forum to become actively involved in their child’s education.

ELPIC/ELAC provides opportunities for parents to formulate and make recommendations

1. To develop the school’s plan on programs and services for English Learners (makes recommendations but does not have approval authority).
2. To review the school’s needs assessment (makes recommendations but does not have authority to approve or reject processes).
3. To make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance (makes recommendations but does not have authority to require actions against parents/students).
